'American Idol' sends contestant over the edge

"American Idol" hit a dangerous note on Wednesday night when contestant <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2012/02/american-idol-recap-hollywood-week.html" target="blank">Symone Black fainted</a> and fell off the stage mid-song. Black, who was later diagnosed with dehydration, wasn't the only singer feeling ill during Hollywood Week, with many of the Idol hopefuls coming down with the <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="HEDAI0000047" title="Flu" href="/topic/health/diseases-illnesses/flu-HEDAI0000047.topic">flu</a>. Despite <a href="http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/showtracker/2012/02/american-idol-recap-symone-black.html" target="blank">losing their lunches</a>, the contestants kept right on going, including one singer who took extra precaution by rehearsing with a plastic bag in her lap.
