Dungeons & Dragons

Better off animated? As an early '80s animated series on CBS, “Dungeons & Dragons” had a corny opening. A band of kids board an amusement park ride, and a moment later they're dropped off in another realm, one in which their every move is overseen by the cryptic, Yoda-like Dungeon Master. But it all resulted in a fast, action-packed, smart show, one with some pretty amazing-looking animated dragons. As for the 2000 movie? Well, that had Thora Birch.
Verdict? Animated – zero hit points on the live-action front.
