This 55-espresso-shot Frappuccino is the most expensive Starbucks drink ever

Here's the most expensive Starbucks drink ever. It costs $54.75 and includes 55 espresso shots.

It's easy to spend at least $5 on your morning cup of Joe and pastry at Starbucks. But to spend over $50, you'd have to buy drinks for more than a few of your colleagues. Unless you're Texas resident and Starbucks gold member Andrew Chifari.

He created a single drink called the Sexagintuple Vanilla Bean Mocha Frappuccino and it costs a whopping $54.75, Consumerist reported. Just to put things in perspective, a large (venti) mocha Frappuccino costs around $4.25. You can check out a photo of Chifari's drink on his Twitter feed

So how do you rack up a check that expensive on one drink? You add 55 espresso shots. Then you add a drizzle of mocha, caramel, hazelnut and some protein powder. And you get the drink in a 28-ounce cup.

But Chifari didn't have to pay for the monster drink. As a gold member, if you buy 12 drinks, your 13th is free. That free drink can apply to any available drink, and Chifari is lucky his barista was on board.

Chifari told Consumerist he was aiming to beat the previous record for the most expensive Starbucks drink that included 48 shots and cost $47.30.

"Aaaaaand done," Chifari tweeted Wednesday. "Took 5 days, but I drank it all." (That still averages out to 11 shots of espresso each day.)
