What about beauty for the men on the red carpet? Neil Patrick Harris, host of tonight’s 65th Emmy Awards, was prepped and primed by longtime groomer Sonia Lee with products from a variety of beauty brands.
She started by using a cotton ball to apply skin lotion from Japanese cult brand Koh Gen Doh to Harris’ face. “I left the lotion on Neil’s face as long as I could this morning” to make sure all makeup applied afterward set well and didn’t crack due to dryness.
Lee says she slathered on even more moisture with a face lotion from Dermalogica and followed up with primer and foundation from Kevin Aucoin. And then: a sheer dust of powder, also from Kevin Aucoin, to minimize the chance of any runny makeup.
Lee used a small flat iron on Harris’ hair to create dimension and shape and added a dollop of Oribe Gold Pomade. Fly-aways were tamed with a Tancho pomade stick.
