1932 Summer Olympic Games

Aug. 7: "The American women's 4 x 100 meter relay team today established new Olympic and world records in the race with the time of 47 seconds. The team is composed of Mary Carew, Evelyn Furtsch, Annette Rogers, and Wilhemina von Bremen. Canada placed second, Great Britain third, Holland fourth, Japan fisth, and Germany sixth in the exciting race. Pictured is the finish with von Bremen of the United States beating Hilda Strike of Canada over the finish line."
