FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The Southeastern Conference released its football schedules for the 2013 season. The schedule again includes eight SEC games. However, the much-anticipated rivalry between Arkansas and Missouri will not happen as first reported.
"The 2013 schedule provides match-ups against some of the other marquee college football programs in the nation," said Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long. "With seven home games in the state of Arkansas, Razorback fans will have the opportunity to see key SEC games as well as non-conference match-ups featuring first time football opponents."
Arkansas will welcome former Southwest Conference rival Texas A&M, South Carolina, Auburn, and Mississippi State to Razorback Stadium. The Hogs will go on the road to Florida, Alabama, Ole Miss, and LSU.
Non-conference games in-state include the season-opener at home against Louisiana-Lafayette, Samford, Southern Miss. Arkansas will travel to Rutgers. It is the first time the Hogs have played in the Northeast since the 1940s.
"As we continue in the process of working alongside the Southeastern Conference to outline future conference schedules, we are pleased we were able to put together a competitive and compelling 2013 schedule for our program and our fans," said Long.
