Last week at New Hampshire, Kansas native Clint Bowyer looked like he might be able to use a little pit stratagy to get a good finish, only to get burned by the caution flag. He finished 17th.
Not saying for sure that was Bowyers one Chase mulligan, but 13 not 12 cars, that was probably Bowyer's one Chase mulligan. He is now 10th in Championship standings, 48 points behind Matt Kenseth. Forty eight is the maximum points a team can get in a race, so obviously the 15 team has some work to do.
This weekend NASCAR heads to Dover. It's a pretty good track for Bowyer, he has an average finish of 13th and he was sixth when NASCAR made it's first stop there back in June.
"We’ve stubbed our toe a little the last couple weeks and haven’t finished as well as we’ve needed to," said Bowyer. "We have run well at Dover in the past couple years and we are bringing a good car this weekend that dominated at Atlanta but had an engine issue, so hopefully the car will be as good, but with a little better luck at the end.”
