There was a time when the night race at Bristol was the hot ticket in NASCAR. And even though since the repave, it's not what used to be, it's still a pretty wild weekend.
It's small, it's nesstled in the Tennessee mountains and it feels like the warriors of the coliseum.
"It's just insane -- it's out of control," said Martin Truex, Jr. "Bristol is like having a boxing match in an elevator. Everything is so right there and so packed together. The fans are on top of the action. When you're driving the car, you're always in the middle of something."
And it's were feuds are born, just look back to the spring, it was the beginning of Logano vs Hamlin. It's probable that a new rivalry will be born this weekend. The intensity is just kicked up a notch under the lights
"The track of course -- the way it's shaped and being later in the year, everybody's patience is a little thinner and all that stuff," said Matt Kenseth. "It seems like the racing is more intense and that leads to close racing, frustration and all that kind of stuff that is fun to watch."
Kenseth will certainly be one of the driver to watch at Bristol, he has two wins at the Tennessee track. Also anyone one named Busch is a good bet, Kyle has five Bristol wins so does Kurt. Jeff Gordon also has five wins at this track.
Brad Keselowski could use a good run to keep his hopes of defending his title alive, and this could be the place, he has two Bristol wins. Carl Edwards also has two wins, Dale Junior, Tony Stewart, Kasey Kahne, Kevin Harvick and Jimmie Johnson each have a win there.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
