Green Day - 21 Guns

Every time this song came on in the car, I'd change the radio to another station. For a good chunk of the summer and fall portion of 2009, every pop, rock, alternative and Top 40 station carried "21 Guns," a song that shows Green Day is still as political as ever (well, at least since they dropped "American Idiot," an album which is currently being adapted for Broadway, or so we've been told for the past three years). Perhaps "21 Guns" has a rightful place in the history books that will mark 2009 -- a year which saw democratic protests in Iran and the continuation of an American war in Afghanistan.
