Newspaper Publisher Fired Amid Sexual Battery Complaints

Paul Mahony, the publisher of the Manteca Bulletin newspaper, has been fired while a police investigation determines the validity of sexual battery claims by female peers, the Stockton Record reports.

The editor of the Manteca Bulletin newspaper confirmed the allegations of sexual battery against Mahony to the Record Tuesday afternoon.

Police Chief David Bricker says Mahony has not been formally charged, but the investigation is scheduled to conclude by the end of the week and the sexual battery case will be forwarded to the San Joaquin District Attorney's office at that time.

It's unclear when Mahony was fired from the Manteca Bulletin, but someone logged in as user "Mbulletin" removed his name under "publisher" from the Manteca Bulletin Wikipedia page on February 11th.
