Man Dead, Three Injured After Crash on Highway 99

A man is dead, and three others, including two young girls, are injured after a crash on Highway 99.

California Highway Patrol Officer Michael Bradley said the Toyota Corolla began drifting off of the highway just before 1 p.m.

A 19-year-old man was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Two young girls were trapped inside of the back seat of the vehicle for over 20 minutes before they could be extricated by emergency personnel. They were taken to UC Davis Medical Center where they're in critical condition.

It appears the victims were part of a family and possibly headed to the State Fair, Bradley said.

The CHP is investigating this crash.
