Family members of a deceased 17-year-old Citrus Heights girl faced off with media photographers outside the Sacramento County Courthouse following a set of hearings for two men accused of rape and murder.
Anton Johnson, 18, and a 17-year-old male suspect were arraigned in Sacramento County Court Wednesday afternoon for the murder and rape of 17-year-old Rebecca Layson last week. Layson's body was discovered in a Citrus Heights park by authorities February 12th after family members filed a missing person's report earlier that morning.
Following the hearing, several distraught family members confronted media photographers assigned to cover the story. Two unidentified individuals lunged at photographers from KOVR and KCRA.
Channel 13's photographer Dennis Marin and Channel 3's Mike Williams did not appear to be harmed following the incident.
Both individuals involved in the altercation were contained by law enforcement officers.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
