Amgen riders and spectators will need to bundle up this weekend. Wet and cold weather is expected for Sunday’s race start in South Lake Tahoe.
According to event organizers: “We’re working carefully with all relevant public safety and weather forecast entities. We have developed a number of contingency plans, and when the Sunday weather forecast becomes clearer we will, in consultation with the teams, public safety organizations, and commissares, make a decision which will represents the best and safest course of action,” said Andrew Messick, president of AEG Sports.
FOX40’s weather watcher and outdoor enthusiast Dennis Shanahan says fans of the Amgen Tour of California planning to head up to the start of the race should wear warm clothing and be prepared for snow.
