SEAL BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) -- Funeral services were held Monday for the woman authorities say was the target of the deadly shooting rampage at a hair salon in Seal Beach.
Friends and family of Salon Meritage stylist Michelle Fournier gathered at Cottonwood Church in Los Alamitos for an 11 a.m. memorial service.
Founiers ex-husband, Scott Dekraai, is charged with eight felony counts of murder and one felony count of attempted murder in the shooting.
Prosecutors say Dekraai stormed the crowded salon at 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 12 with the intent of killing Fournier.
He wore a bulletproof vest, was armed with 3 guns and shot at "anyone close enough to hit," Orange County District Attorney Tony Rackauckas said.
Investigators say Fournier was among the first two victims.
In all, eight people were killed and one was wounded. The lone survivor, 73-year-old Harriet Stretz, has been released from the hospital.
Her daughter, Laura Webb, was killed in the shooting.
Dekraai was apparently enraged over a custody battle with Fournier involving their 8-year-old son.
Prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty in the case.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
