NEW YORK -- An 8-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday after allegedly slashing a classmate with a double-edged razor blade during a lunchtime altercation.
The incident took place at P.S. 132 in the Morrisania section of the Bronx.
School officials said the 8 and 9-year old boys exchanged words before the younger one pulled out a razor and cut the other student in the neck.
The blade was recovered in the schools playground.
The victim's wound required stitches.
The 8-year old told police that he brings the razor to school because some kids dont like him.
The boy faces assault and weapons possession charges and will be tried as a juvenile.Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
