Fox 5 Morning News Anchor Shally is no stranger to Southern California: its people or politics. While attending California State University of Fullerton where she earned bachelors degrees in Communications and Political Science, Zomorodi interned for Orange County's original news channel, OCN.
A dedicated journalist, Zomorodi launched her news career as an assistant for KTTV FOX 11 in Los Angeles. Quickly advancing into an on-air reporting position in Beaumont, Texas, Zomorodi, with her winning smile and refined reporting skills, woke the Southwest residents of the Lone Star state to breaking local and national news.
Shally's embracing personality and dedicated reporting returned her to the Southland and family she loves dearly in Orange County. Her multi-faceted talents in research and news delivery earned her the dual role of both host and reporter of LA City View in Los Angeles. She then became the anchor of DAYBREAK OC, a two hour love morning show broadcasting from the heart of Orange County for all of Southern California.
Versed in international broadcasting as the reporter for Voice of America, and fluent in Farsi, Shally now brings her global skills, diversity, and southland knowledge to FOX 5. In 2008, Shally held the title of Mrs. California.
In her spare time Shally loves to cook, run by the beach and belly dance. She and her husband Bruce and baby son Arshia along with their two dogs are happy to call Southern California home.

What's on your iPod?
Anything and everything. I love music!!! From smooth, jazz, trance, dance, I have it all. My favorite is the Persian Music folder. And when I really want to kick it up I hit up the belly dancing music. I have been belly dancing since I was 5 years old and it's the only music that will really pump me up.
Which professional sport would you play and why?
Can cooking and eating be a sport? :) I have a feeling the answer is 'no.' So then .Soccer or Golf. I don't have the height for basketball, dont like to get tackled like in football, get bored waiting for my turn to bat in baseball.
If you were not in TV news, what profession would you choose?
Easy. A teacher. Since I was a little girl I have loved teaching what I know to those around me. As a society we are only as strong as the generation that is following us. I believe in empowering, teaching and uplifting the next generation. No matter what profession I am in I will always be a teacher.
What's something that no one knows about you?
Well if I told you then people will know and that defeats the purpose. I like keeping things mysterious.
Dinner for 5, who would you invite? (Dead or alive)
Only five? If you know anything about me you know I throw large dinner parties. But if you insist: Princess Diana, John F. Kennedy, Jr., Ellen Degenres, Michael Jackson and President Obama. Now this will make for an interesting conversation!Copyright © 2014, The Baltimore Sun
