KANSAS CITY, MO - Chiefs All-Pro linebacker has been suspended for 1 game without pay for violationg the NFL's substance abuse policy.
Hali will miss the September 9th opener, hosting Atlanta. He is expected to return week 2 at Buffalo.
Hali record 12 sacks last season, ranking 2nd in the AFC.
“Tamba’s situation is unfortunate,” Chiefs general manager Scott Pioli said in a statement. “Obviously, we are disappointed and will miss him during this suspension, but the NFL’s policies are very clear, and we respect the league’s decision in this matter. We are unable to comment further on this matter or any aspect of the NFL’s Drug Policy.”
