COLUMBIA, MO - The Missouri High School Activities Association has released the new district assignments and classifications for the 2012-13 high school football seasons. A few Ozarks area teams moved up or down in classification. There is also several district changes to accommodate the new 8-team bracket style playoff format (with the exception of class 5) that begins this fall.
In Class 1 Joplin McAuley Catholic moves down from class 2 after dissolving its cooperative sponsorship with College Heights.
In Class 2, Mountain Grove moves down from class 3.
In Class 3, Hollister moves up from class 2 entering just its 3rd season of varsity football.
In Class 4, Nevada moves up from class 3.
There are no classification changes in the Ozarks in Class 5.
Championship dates for the annual Show-Me Bowl at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis have also been set for next 2 seasons; November 23-24 of 2012 and November 29-30 of 2013.
Compare these numbers with the last cycle (2010-12) enrollment figures to see how close your school was to moving up or down.
