Use Proper Progression

Starting out slow when just getting back into an exercise routine is critical. Pushing your body too much at the beginning makes you more prone to injury, so increase the length and intensity of your work over time. If you decide to incorporate weight-lifting, don't use weights that are too heavy right away. Talk to a trainer or someone who is experienced in lifting for advice on what weight is right for you and how to use equipment properly.
