First Major League Season Opened Outside Of North America

New York Mets manager Bobby Valentine tips his cap after losing a pre-season game against Japan's Tokyo Giants at Tokyo Dome March 28. The Tokyo Giants won the game 9-5 over the Mets. The New York Mets and the Chicago Cubs will play two games in Tokyo March 29 and 30, the first time Major League baseball will have opened a season outside North America.
