Elizabeth Given, 6, 9, front, of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100202180000" title="New Britain" href="/topic/us/connecticut/hartford-county/new-britain-PLGEO100100202180000.topic">New Britain</a>, and Zoie Nickerson, 3, of Berlin, play with a baby red kangaroo at Winterfest 2000. The outdoor festival, held at Stanley Quarter Park in new britain, was sponsored by the park and recreation dept. and included games, rides, food, music, snowboarding, a fire house to teach kids what to do when they're in a fire, and helicopter rides. The kangaroo belongs to Jan Veilleux of <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100203210000" title="Terryville" href="/topic/us/connecticut/litchfield-county/terryville-PLGEO100100203210000.topic">Terryville</a>, who has three of the animals living her home.
