Jonathan's Dream Playground

Shuni Plaskett, of Southington, ( left, holding boards) and Steve Poehler, of Bristol, (right, back to camera) work on the construction of Jonathan's Dream, a wheelchair-friendly playground for children of all abilities on land adjacent to the Greater Hartford Jewish Community Center. The playground is a specially designed and constructed not-for- profit community project built by 750 volunteers in one week's time. Jonathan's Dream is the vision of Peter and Amy Barzach, of West Hartford, as a memorial to their son who died of Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) at the age of nine months in January 1995.
