"The Wadsworth mansion was originally built as a summer home and was landscaped by the Olmstead Brothers, who designed Central Park, the landscaping for the Biltmore Estate and the Washington D.C. Capitol building, and many other locations nationwide. It is owned by the town and rented for weddings and other functions. During the year, there are many free activities for residents in and around the vast grounds, including: weekly summer concerts, an indoor winter craft fair, and the annual Open Air Market and Festival. It's a real treasure for Middletown," said Alice Lamont.
