Mr. Kitty

Mr. Kitty is gone now. My daughter Marla saw him more than 13 years ago, reaching out to her with his front paws from a Newington Humane Society cage. Realizing he was merely stretching would never have changed her decision to adopt him. Marla named him Charlie Chaplin because of his wonderful mustache, but he never came when we called. "Here, kitty, kitty, kitty" got a response, hence he was renamed Mr. Kitty. Unbelievable to visitors, Kitty played hide-and-seek with my daughter. Guess who always won? — Lynn, Herb and Marla Rubenstein, West Hartford
