Yoho National Park, British Columbia

Todd Madison of Suffield submitted this photo, taken of Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. He writes, "My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this past summer by touring the Canadian Rockies. The Canadian Rockies were filled with spectacular snow peaked mountains, glacier lakes, streams and magnificent waterfalls. One of the most spectacular sights we kept seeing was the vivid emerald-colored waters found in glacial lakes such as Emerald Lake. I have read that the term "Yoho" comes from the Cree language and it means magnificent or awesome. While hiking around Emerald Lake and enjoying the views, it is certainly not hard to figure out why the Cree called this area magnificent."
