Kelo Vs. New London

Susette Kelo, of New London, stands on the front porch of her Fort Trumbull neighborhood home after hearing the news that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in favor of the City of New London to use the authority of eminent domain to evict the Kelos and others from the neighborhood so that the Fort Trumbull Municipal Development Plan for economic revitalization can move forward. In the plan, the city's seizure of the 30-acre parcel adjacent to Pfizer Corporation, visible in the background, will force out the remaining homeowners now that the move has been deemed constitutional by the nation's highest court.
