This is a picture of Tina, short for Valentina. She is an adorable cat that "gave us her heart" at a shelter last year. After having a wonderful orange tabby who died at 18, and a young black-and-white cat who was eaten by a coyote in our backyard, we decided to go to a shelter to rescue a cat who would be an indoor cat. We set our eyes on this little beauty and that was it, and her solid black brother was so cute that we adopted him, too. Now they spend their days romping around the house, happy, healthy and safe. She is a true Valentine. (This photo has not been enhanced; she really has this amazing marking! I've had cats my whole life and I've never seen anything like it.) — Ellen Sayers, West Hartford
