Linda McMahon, outside her campaign headquarters on Farmington Ave. in downtown West Hartford, is one of three republican candidates who sought Christopher Dodd's seat in the senate. McMahon is best known for being the CEO of World Wresting Entertainment, a publicly traded company in Stanford. McMahon helped oversee the company's growth from a 13 person staff to a global enterprise with more than 500 workers worldwide and offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, London and Tokoyo among others. In addition to her business experience McMahon has served on the Board of Trustees for Sacred Heart University in Fairfield and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Close Up Foundation, a nonprofit that exists to educate and inspire young people to participate in our democracy. In 2009, McMahon was appointed by Gov. Jodi Rell to serve on the Connecticut Board of Education. McMahon is a graduate of East Carolina University. She has resided in Greenwich with her husband Vince for more than 30 years.
