Mudslide Damage In Middletown

A gaping hole opened up under the foundation when a mudslide tore away an embankment at the Charton Terrace apartment complex in <a class="taxInlineTagLink" id="PLGEO100100204120000" title="Middletown" href="/topic/us/connecticut/middlesex-county-%28connecticut%29/middletown-PLGEO100100204120000.topic">Middletown</a> after the Coginhaug RIver overflowed with the torrential rains Tuesday. Residents of the apartments were evacuated Tuesday but some were being allowed back in late Wednesday afternoon.
