( Richard Messina, Hartford Courant / October 1, 2012 ) American School for the Deaf is scheduled to tear down the 175,000-square-foot Gallaudet Hall, built in 1921, next year after the completion of a new 60,000-square-foot building to house most of the school's classes and services. A group of concerned alumni is circulating a petition to "Save Gallaudet Hall," the historic building on the American School for the Deaf campus in West Hartford. The hall is located directly behind the new building, and will become open space once it is raised. |
