MV Le Joola (2002)

An undated photo shows the ferry Joola loading in Dakar port. The Joola sank following a storm in the Atlantic ocean in September of 2002, killing 1,863 people. Late rescues operations, launched the day after, found only 64 people alive and recovered 500 bodies. The others remain missing.
