Sierra was brought in to provide a potent bat at DH for the Yankees and put up solid numbers for New York between 2003 and 2005, though his playing time had diminished significantly by then. He played just 14 games in 2006 with the Twins before retiring. Thames, meanwhile, has developed into a decent power hitter since signing with the Detroit Tigers prior to the 2004 season. He hit 26 home runs in 2006, 18 home runs in 2007 and 25 home runs in 2008.
