Journeyman reliever Miceli's stint in pinstripes was short to say the least. Acquired on June 25, he was traded just over a month later before the trade deadline. Miceli appeared in just seven games for New York, with a 5.49 ERA. Garcia, stuck with the Yankees through the remainder of the season and played well. In 50 games he hit .305 with 50 home runs, while filling in at all three outfield spots. He might be more well known in New York and Boston circles for beating up a member of the Fenway Park grounds crew in the visitor's bullpen with teammate Jeff Nelson during the 2003 ALCS. Garcia left for the Mets to begin the 2004 season, his last in the majors, and finished with the Orioles.
