Roy Halladay of the Toronto Blue Jays throws a pitch against the Boston Red Sox during the game at Rogers Centre on April 9, 2005 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.The Blue Jays won the game 12-5. Halladay was supposed to be the AL's starting pitcher in the All-Star Game, but his season was cut short on July 8, when he was hit by a line drive off the bat of Texas Rangers' outfielder Kevin Mench. Through 19 starts up to that point, he had a 12-4 record and a career-best 2.41 ERA.
