Algae at base camp

Hilary McManus, a graduate student at the University of Connecticut in Storrs uses a microscope to identify algae brought to base camp where scientists gather to classify species. The effort is part of BioBlitz, organized by the Connecticut State Museum of Natural History where 140 scientists, during a 24 hour marathon, race to find and identify as many species as possible at Mohegan Park in Norwich.
