Shipyard Road, July 2006

<b>July 7, 2006:</b> At around 11 in the morning, a single-car crash occurred on Shipyard Road, near River Roadd in Newport News. The car landed into this ravine where where Newport News Fire and Rescue personnel had to cut  out the driver, a 20-year-old shipyard worker.  Witnesses said the man lost control of his car as he turned the sharp curve on Shipyard Drive, and he careened off the road through a space in the guard rail, went down the hill and spun 180-degrees before hitting some trees.
