French relatives of passengers on flight 447
French relatives of passengers on board the ill-fated Air France flight AF447 leave Saint-Eloy's church in Roissy-en-France, a Paris suburb, on June 6, 2009 after attending a mass in memory of the passengers and crew of the Air France flight. The plane carrying 228 people of 32 nationalities, most of them French or Brazilian, disappeared on June 1, nearly halfway through its 11-hour flight from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. While the investigation cast about for clues, families of those on board the plane expressed frustration with the lack of physical evidence that their loved ones were gone forever.
