A woman's stomach is marked for surgery
Liposuction is the second most popular cosmetic procedure in the U.S., with 302,000 people receiving the surgery in 2007. However, the frequency of the procedure is decreasing, down 14 percent from 2000. There were high surgical complication rates throughout the 1990's, but these have since decreased with further research and practice. Photo: Luis Davilla/Getty Images
