Exercise the Right Way

It's clear that exercising regularly reduces the risk of heart failure, but many people don't realize there are distinct benefits for different types of activity. Aerobic exercise causes arterial stiffness to decrease, but doesn't increase blood flow to the limbs. Resistance training (weight lifting) increases blood flow to the limbs, but intensifies stiffness in the central arteries. So, for the best possible prevention, incorporate cardiovascular activity and resistance training.
