Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital recently completed a $9 million expansion that includes a new lobby and renovations to its center for premature babies.
The upgrades to the Center for Neonatal Transitional Care will allow the hospital to treat 20 percent more patients, or an additional 100 to 150 premature and sick babies each year. The enhancements include family lounge with a kitchen, larger patient room and individual rooms so parents may stay overnight.
The hospital expansion also included a new lobby with clear, water-filled columns that bubble - like at The National Aquarium in Baltimore - and interactive games for kids.
