Kevin Dineen: With the Whalers until the bitter end

Whalers captain <a href="http://www.nhl.com/ice/player.htm?id=8446423"  target="_blank">Kevin Dineen</a> scored the last NHL goal at  the Civic Center on April 13, 1997 as the Whalers defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning 2-1 in their last game. After his stint in Hartford, Dineen bounced around the league until he retired as a member of the Columbus Blue Jackets four games into the 2002-2003 season. Dineen is one of only five players to score 350 goals in his career while spending more than 2,000 minutes in the penalty box. He remains a fan favorite in Hartford.
