"The Little Dog Laughed" To Open In New Haven

Hartford Courant

“The Little Dog Laughs” -- again.

The last time Douglas Carter Beane’s wicked comedy played the area was at Hartford’s TheaterWorks oin a production that starred Candy Buckley, Chad Allen and most notably Jeremy Jordan as the sensitive, sometimes naked hustler.

The sexy, charismatic Jordan has gone on to fame and fortune on Broadway starring in “Bonnie and Clyde” and Newsies,” the latter earning him a Tony Award nomination. He is now in the NBC’s series “Smash.” He also just got married.

Now Pantochino Productions will present the comedy in New Haven at Arts Hall, 55 Audubon St., part of Education Center for the Arts. The show begins performances Oct. 5 and continues through Oct. 13. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.

The production, directed by Bert Bernardi, features Melissa Macleod Herion, Jimmy Johansmeyer, Justin Rugg and Ruth Kennedy.
