Pasta And Tomatoes

Little ones like little food in fun shapes, which is a good way to get them started on whole grain pastas, good source of protein and complex carbohydrates. They also contain B vitamins, antioxidants and minerals, and are low in salt and fat. Mix in their favorite tomato or spaghetti sauce, and you have a nutritionally leaner, meaner alternative to boxed mac and cheese. Tomatoes are full of lycopene, an antioxidant, and are a good source of potassium, and vitamins A and C. (P.S. Watch out for extra sugar content in your favorite jarred sauce.)
