Hummus

The chickpea has such a high protein content that the USDA considers it a meat alternative. It's also a good source of fiber, calcium, iron and zinc. When made into hummus with olive oil, it's a great way to get heart-healthy fats into a kid's diet. Spread it on a sandwich, or let the kids have fun dipping with their favorite veggies or pita chips.
