Long before Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll reinvented himself as a new-age coaching guru at Southern Cal, he was a punch line for football fans in New York and Boston. Carroll was 6-10 as Jets coach in 1994, fired after one year. He replaced Bill Parcells as Patriots coach in 1997 and was 27-21 in three seasons. In both stops, he was mocked as overly enthusiastic and in over his head. Now in his fourth season in Seattle, he returns to the Northeast with a Super Bowl team.
