Should there be a minimum wage increase nationwide?

U.S. CongressConsumer ConfidenceFast-Food Wage Protests

A one-day strike was held Thursday by fast-food workers in cities around the country, including Hartford, in support of raising the minimum wage. Democrats in Congress are pushing a bill that would gradually  raise it to $10.10 an hour from $7.25 and align it with  the Consumer Price Index, so it would go up as the CPI does. But Republicans argue that a higher minimum wage would hurt business. It was last raised in 2009 to $7.25 an hour. Connecticut’s minimum is $8.25. Should the national minimum wage go up?
