That Sherlock is a beast.
Benedict Cumberbatch, the hot young English actor who stars in PBS’s terrific “Sherlock” series, plays the Creature in National Theatre Live broadcast of the National Theatre of Great Britain stage production of “Frankenstein,” directed by Danny Boyle (the films “Slumdog Millionaire,” “Trainspotting”).
The broadcast will be shown June 6 and 7 at 7 p.m. in Connecticut theaters including Brandford 12, Danbury 16, Buckland Hills 18 IMAX, North Haven 12 and Bloomfield Cinema.
Also starring in the Nick Dear’s adaptation of the Mary Shelley novel is Jonny Lee Miller. Cumberbatch and Miller alternate roles of the Doctor and the Creature and the show was filmed twice last year so cinema audiences would be able to see the Olivier Award-winning actors in each role.
