Shelton Fire Displaces Dozens

2014.01.06. ¿ Shelton, CT ¿ Firefighters early Monday rushed to rescue trapped tenants from a furiously burning four-story building that later collapsed. Five people were treated for smoke inhalation; all two dozen or so occupants are out of the building at 466 Howe Ave., Fire Marshal Jim Tortora said. "We're confident that everybody's out," he said. The building, which housed six or seven businesses and 24 apartments, is destroyed, he said. Representatives of the state fire marshal's office are helping Shelton investigate the cause.
