A flawed, inconsistent police response to sexual assault in Maryland

Samuel Colt

Samuel Colt, born in Hartford, Ct. in 1814. In 1835-36, he patented a revolving-breech pistol and founded at Paterson, N.J., the Patent Arms Company, which failed in 1842. In 1847, the U.S. government gave him an order for 1,000 of his revolvers for use in the Mexican War, making possible the reestablishment of his business. He died in 1862.
