We take you inside Salem's best bets this Halloween
They say Salem is haunted, a cursed witch city rampant with spirits of the murdered and tortured dead, and I didn't believe it.
Then I saw it for myself.
The cobblestoned streets beneath my feet were the same streets traveled during the infamous witch trials of Salem, Mass., which took place in 1692. I found myself standing before the exact houses and graves made famous by Arthur Miller's "The Crucible and Nathaniel Hawthorne's "The House of the Seven Gables."
In the warm comfort of the autumn sun, the town seemed harmless. But, as night fell, Salem's storybook spookiness emerged. This Halloween, splurge on some real fright -- a town rich with history and even a few wandering spirits to send a shiver down anyone's spine.
